Does your child have a pattern of bad behavior in school or home? Have you ever thought about how your child is feeling on the inside? Yes, I fully understand that rules should be followed and adults are to be respected. However, what if there really is a chemical imbalance from your child’s diet making it more difficult to do what they know is right? The impulsivity, disruptions, inattentiveness, argumentation, and even temper tantrums don’t just come out of nowhere. Of course, we all have our days. Maybe they just didn’t feel like following that particular direction. This is more so for the parents who are often being contacted about their behaviors at school or even if your children don’t respond to you the way that you believe they should, at home. “It isn’t the mountains ahead that wear you down. It’s the pebble in your shoe.” -Muhammad Ali
Muhammad Ali said a lot of ground-breaking things, but this one really stood out to me. A pebble in your shoe is something you can control that is very miniscule in the grand scheme of things. If you look at your life and look at the bigger picture, your diet is something that you truly have complete control over. Why not take advantage of that? Move it out of the way because it’s causing you to crawl when you could be running to your dreams.
Setting goals and achieving them are two very different things. If you’re like me, you like to set goals that seem impossible to actually achieve them.
Helloooo everyone! This morning I received my first package of goodies from Thrive Market, and couldn’t wait to incorporate something into a recipe to share with you all. This is like Christmas to me LOL. Since I am a huge fan of pastas and I am always looking for healthy alternatives to the high refined carbohydrates regular pasta gives, I decided on a brown rice pasta – Jovial Brown Rice Caserecce. This recipe is good for a quick dinner idea if you don’t have much time and also don’t want to eat out. Check it out:
We are at war. However, I am often hearing about and seeing people on social media belittle and argue with others because they aren’t “speaking out” in ways that they feel they should. Everyone was placed on this earth for a specific reason. I know for a fact that the reason you were put here was not to make this situation worse. Because truth be told, deleting friends because they said something to offend you is contributing to the problem. Educate them. Talk to them. Unification. Maybe there is something you can say to actually open their eyes that love is the answer. Continue Reading
America has a gluttony issue. America has a portion problem.
Habitual healthy eating should never be stressful; it should be a part of our daily routine, as our hygiene is a part of our daily routine. I am going to take you through the meal prepping program that assisted me in losing close to 60 pounds, supplement free. It’s also not solely about the weight loss, at all. The weight is bound to come off with the lifestyle change. There are tons of diseases and ailments in the world that are acquired through years of continuous unhealthy eating.
Hello! I think it may be sometimes difficult to understand what’s really the point of buying organic produce. I get questions about this often. When is it necessary? What’s the difference? Who really cares? lol. Let me put you on. Continue Reading
Seafood low in mercury is important to consume at least twice per week (or 12 oz). Exposure to high mercury levels is detrimental to your health. Why, you ask? Mercury can cause serious neurological complications that are sometimes irreversible, especially for pregnant or nursing women. I will go into more of that later. This was one of my contributions this week. Extremely delicious. Y’all know how I do. Let’s go: Continue Reading
Greetings! Everyone loves a good chicken salad wrap; or, is that just me? Chicken salad is high in protein, rich in dietary fiber, full of fruit with a hint of veggies and fresh herbs. This screams delectable! Don’t doubt me. Here goes: Continue Reading
Hello! This is a simple follow up to my previous post. I was going on a rant about how important breakfast is. Here is a simple example of what I may eat for breakfast in the mornings. This took me all of 20 minutes from beginning to end. Check it out! Continue Reading
I can’t seem to count the number of times, daily, that I observe my peers and friends on social media making habits out of morning coffee shop visits for (for example) a caramel frap accompanied by a bagel smothered in cream cheese or “breakfast” cake, or donut, to start their day. Caffeine and sugar for breakfast? Interesting.
